Does the Bible Matter In the 21st Century? – FoxNews.com.
My answer is “yes”. However, not for the reasons mentioned by the author, who expresses views held by many who do not share God’s point of view.
In the article the author, Vishal Mangalwadi, maintains that the Bible is “the secret of America’s freedom,” and that without it America will be like “the first Protestant nation – Nazi Germany.” He also says that “every culture that rejects the kingdom of God condemns itself to be ruled exclusively by sinful men.”
While these statements come very close to the truth (as many lies do), they reveal the lies on account of which all but the children of God are condemned.
The Bible always matters. But only because God uses it to restrain evil, and not because to the best of their ability men govern themselves according to its teaching. And “every culture that rejects the kingdom of God” is the world which is ruled by God through Satan, not those cultures which do not have what is often referred to as America’s Judeo-Christian heritage. “Sinful men” rule nothing. Nor do they condemn or save themselves from condemnation.
Though the Bible is no one’s savior, believers thank God for the Bible. Without it the earth would be uninhabitable. It would not be the place where God identifies and trains his children.
